It’s been a busy couple of weeks for the Stirling Team. After the Sabre vs Zulu game at Catterick for the team at the end of September, the first weekend in October saw the team travel to Spain for Stirling Spain’s first BlackHawk Down themed airsoft game.

Some of the players who travelled to Spain for the game have uploaded a load of pictures from the game to Facebook. We’ve linked to their albums on the Stirling Airsoft Facebook Page and you can see a few of the best photos below.

Taking the familiar BlackHawk Down game format of US Rangers and Delta Force fighting their way out of hostile territory in Mogadishu, the game was taken to a whole new level of realism thanks in large part to the site in Spain.

The sand covered streets and dusty, run down buildings at the Spanish site served as a perfect substitute for downtown Mogadishu.  The only thing missing was actual BlackHawk helicopters, but you can’t have everything.

Players fought through the night, with reports of tense firefights as a squad of Rangers found themselves trapped in a house, low on ammo and surrounded by skinnies attacking the building from all sides.

You can see all of Ed Denson’s photo’s from the game in his gallery on Facebook.

And Dominic Bellman shared two galleries full of photo’s from the game which can be found here and here.

UPDATE: Ingrid Hughes has also shared a link to her gallery on Facebook so you can see even more pictures from the game in Spain.

We’ve had great feedback on the game from the Spanish players and the UK-based players who travelled to Spain for the game and we’re looking forward to the next time we’re able to run a game there.  To stay up to date and get news and announcements of when that’s happening, why not subscribe to our feed or become a fan of Stirling Airsoft on Facebook?  If you’d prefer to get updates from the Stirling Blog send direct to you by email just enter your email address in the form below and click subscribe (and don’t worry, we’ll only use your address to send you updates from the blog, we won’t spam you with other emails or share your address with anyone else).

It’s still a busy time for The Stirling Team, with the Op: Mongoose game at Catterick on October 17th and 18th, and the newly announced Op: Overwatch real-time hostage rescue mission, also at Catterick, coming up on November 7th and 8th.  Op: Overwatch will be the first time we’ve run this type of combat mission at Catterick FIBUA Village and it promises to be a unique and exciting experience which differs greatly from our usual games there.  We’ll have more details about Op: Overwatch in an upcoming post here on the Stirling Airsoft Blog.
