We’ve just had news of a change of date for the Op: Neptune Combat Mission in September.

The date has now been changed to September 17th & 18th (just one week after the originally planned date of September 10th & 11th) and will be held at UCAP’s site in Kent, The Sandpit.

The mission itself remains the same as SEAL Team 6 covertly deploy into Pakistan on a mission to strike the compound where Osama bin Laden is believed to be hiding.  The change of venue does mean however that we’ve been able to expand upon the original plans for the mission to include additional Delta Force and SOG (Special Operations Group) Operators as well as an increased number of Al Qaeda operatives in the target zone.  In other words, this means there are more places available for players on both sides and a big new site for you all to play in.

As usual you can book for the event by emailing bookings@stirlingairsoft.com or calling Matt Belgrove on 07831 429407.  Players who had already booked for Op: Neptune Spear at Catterick on September 10th & 11th will have their bookings and deposits carried over to the new date.  If you had previously booked and cannot make it to Op: Neptune Spear on the new date please call Matt as soon as possible to discuss your options.

Please bear in mind that Matt and the rest of the Stirling Airsoft team will be at STANTA this weekend for Op: Murabit so please be patient if you don’t get a response straight away.  All message will be replied to as soon as possible.

Got a couple of new updates about Operation: Murabit which is taking place at the MOD’s OBUA Training Facility in Norfolk on July 30th and 31st.

First up, there are still a few places available on the DBR side for the event.  All places on the other teams are now booked but you can still get in with the Devine Brotherhood of Roy insurgent forces for their battle against the KGB National Army and Task Force Gold.  As usual, ring Matt on 07831 429 407 or email bookings@stirlingairsoft.com to secure places for you and your team before it’s too late.

The big news though is that we’ve just reached an agreement with the MOD that means we will be able to allow players to park on-site at STANTA, avoiding the need for everybody to have to park off-site and be ferried into the gamezone on shuttle buses.  This is great news all around since it removes some of the hassle of getting onto the site and also means that we can relax the restriction of only allowing each player to bring on bergen for their kit and one gunbox onto the site.  Obviously we still want everyone to be sensible about the amount of kit they bring, but at least now we don’t need to be quite so stringent with the limits.

Just a quick update on the places available for Stirling Airsoft’s two biggest events of the summer, Op: Murabit at Eastmere Training Village STANTA and Op: Copperstone at Copehill Down.

Operation: Murabit will be the first airsoft event at the Eastmere Village training site and will continue the AOW Storyline as Task Force Gold work with the KGB National Army to regain control of the region from the DBR.  All places for the Task Force Gold/KGB side are now book but there are still places available for players on the DBR side.  Check out the Op: Murabit Event Page for more details about the game and email bookings@stirlingairsoft.com to book your places.  We’re aiming to have photos of the Eastmere Village site at STANTA posted in the next few days so remember to subscribe to the blog and join us on Facebook to get the updates as soon as they’re available.

Op: Copperstone takes Task Force Black back to N’Djamena on the first anniversary of Victor Aluma’s election as President of Chad.  With rumours that the DBR will attempt to disrupt the anniversary celebrations the KGB National Army and the Chad Police will be on  alert for any signs of trouble.  There are still places available for all three main sides in the game, TF Black, KGB National Army and the DBR (places on the Chad Police are by invitation only for Role Players who will be working to add to the feeling of a real operation in a foreign city).  As usual, make sure to check the full details of Op: Copperstone on the event’s page and email bookings@stirlingairsoft.com or call Matt Belgrove on 07831 429407 to book your places.

Following on from the resounding success of last weekend’s Op: Storm King mission to rescue Colonel Mugatu from the DBR, Task Force White is now well placed to push forward with their next operation, codenamed Morpheus, in June.Taking place at Catterick Urban Ops Training Facility on the weekend of June 11th and 12th, Op: Morpheus will focus on Task Force White’s mission to to suppress DBR activity in the town of Koro Toro and to capture the DBR’s local commander Lokis Tahri.

Stirling Airsoft’s June game at Catterick has always been a great game in previous years and this year should be no different.  Something about Catterick in the sunshine seems to bring out the best in airsoft players.

There are still places available at the usual price of £80 for the weekend’s game fee plus an extra £5 for those players who want to stay in the accommodation blocks at Catterick on Friday and Saturday night.  For more details and to book your places call Matt on 07831 429407 or email bookings@stirlingairsoft.com.

It’s that time of year again.  The nights are drawing in.  Snow is falling all across the British Isles.  The Coke advert is on the telly.  That can only mean one thing…

It’s time for Stirling Airsoft’s annual England vs Scotland airsoft game.

This will be the third event in Stirling Airsoft’s “Old Enemy” series of airsoft games between England and Scotland and with the scores tied at one apiece after the last two years, Op: Anvil promises to be a hard fought battle as both sides fight to take the Stirling Shield for their country.

Scotland’s victory in 2009 (after a little confusion over the final score) gives them every reason to want to retain the trophy for a second year but the English team are just as determined to win back the Stirling Shield.  This game will be the decider and it’s bound to be a big one.

Uniform Rules For Op: Anvil

Scotland won the coin toss this year and have elected to play in Multicam, Desert DPM, ACU or Tricolour kit, which means England’s players will be in Auscam, DPM, Woodland or Green kit.

Weather Updates For Catterick

With the recent cold snap in the UK the has been a lot of heavy snow in the North East of England.  BBC Weather has the 5 day forecast for Catterick and we’ll be monitoring the weather reports for Catterick and for travelling there next weekend.  We’ll post updates about the weather and travel conditions on the Stirling Airsoft Facebook and Twitter accounts to keep everyone updated as the event approaches.

Operation: Kryton is on at Catterick Urban Ops next weekend and it’s shaping up to be another big Stirling Airsoft game.  Op: Kryton stands apart from our regular series of airsoft games following the AOW – Tour Of Duty storyline and is a one-off themed game inspired by the Modern Warfare video games series.

Many of you will have played Modern Warfare 2 (and are probably eagerly awaiting next month’s release of the new Black Ops game) and will be familiar with the scenario that will play out during Op: Kryton, which takes its cues from the “Takedown” level of the game.

Following a terrorist attack at a Russian airport, which was made to appear as if it was perpetrated by Americans, the only credible intel reports available lead Task Force 21 to an arms dealer in Rio De Janeiro.  The Task Force’s mission will be to locate and capture the arms dealer’s assistant and the gather intel and follow the clues to identify and capture the arms dealer himself.  Complicating their mission is the fact that the slums of Rio will be filled with armed mercenaries whose objective is to protect the arms dealer and maintain security of their parts of the city.  Expect there to be plenty of action as Task Force 21 battles their way through waves of mercenaries in search of the arms dealer.

Preparations for Operation: Tempest at Copehill Down Village on August 14th and 15th are continuing to gather speed as players from across Europe ready themselves for Stirling Airsoft’s biggest game of the year.

The event is now FULLY BOOKED with no more places available on any of the sides.

Waiting List For Places

If you want to come to Op: Tempest but haven’t yet booked your place (why not?) you can email Matt Belgrove at matt@stirlingairsoft.com and ask to be added to the waiting list in case there are any cancellations and places become available.  Please remember that this is only a waiting list and there are no guarantees that you will be able to get a place for the event.  The list is being operated on a first come first served basis so get in quick to give yourself the best chance of getting a cancelled place.

A Reminder About Team Uniform Rules

We’d also like to take this opportunity to remind all those players who are coming to Copehill Down for Op: Tempest about the Team Uniform Rules which will be strictly enforced to help ensure fair play and to avoid any confusion or accusations of cheating.

KGB – Flectarn/DPM/Woodland - No Tan Kit

DBR – Civilian or Traditional Dress – No Desert Gear or DPM

British ISAT Forces – British Desert/Multicam – No DPM

US ISAT Forces – ACU/Tri-colour – No DPM

Task Force Black/SOCA – Any Mix of ISAT Uniform – No DPM

Chad Police – Olive Green Uniform with Red Beret

Please bear these Uniform Rules in mind and pack your kit for the game accordingly.  Any players found in violation of these Uniform Rules will be pulled out of the game.

We also want to remind everyone about the Ammo Rules for Copehill Down.  Only Standard and Mid-Cap mags will be allowed at this event.  Hi-Cap magazines are banned from use.  This is to help further promote Stirling Airsoft’s emphasis on tactical airsoft gaming rather than “spray and pray” skirmishing.

Don’t forget that Op: Tempest will be set against the backdrop of the Elections in Chad.  Players are welcome to make banners supporting their candidate of choice.  You can follow all the news and intel updates from the ongoing AOW – Tour Of Duty storyline right here on the Stirling Blog.

Places for August’s Op: Tempest Airsoft Game at Copehill Down are going fast.  We’ve just had word come into the Blog that all places for the KGB (Kanem Guera Brotherhood) side have now been booked.

The good news is that there are still places available for players on the DBR (Divine Brotherhood of Roy) side as well as both, British and US, ISAT Teams.

The ongoing AOW – Tour Of Duty 2010 Campaign has seen some huge battles and a few covert operations to snatch or assassinate targets in the run up to the Elections in Chad that will form the backdrop to Operation: Tempest in August.

Places for the big game at Copehill Down in August are filling up rapidly.  At the time of writing there are no places left on the KGB side but players can still book up for the remaining spots on the DBR and British or US ISAT Teams.

UPDATE: Scotland Won Op: Instant Justice

After recounting the score tallies from Operation: Instant Justice, Matt Belgrove has determined that the final score as originally announced after the game ended was incorrect.  In fact the final scores added up to:

England 964 – Scotland 1000

Matt has already called Scott Allan from Landwarrior Airsoft and given him the news.  We’re sorry for the confusion but wanted to get this news out to everyone as quickly as possible to make it absolutely clear that

Scotland Won The Stirling Shield

This year’s England Vs Scotland Stirling Airsoft game was a hard fought battle and one of the closest games we’ve ever held.

After England’s victory last year the Scots were determined to win the Stirling Shield for their country and the English were just as determined to get their country’s name on the Shield for the second year running.

The Scottish Team’s Commanders worked hard to get their team working together in this year’s game.

Like all Stirling Airsoft games at Catterick the teams scored points by securing certain buildings across the site at particular times as well as locating and maintaining control of moveable objectives like money or weapons caches.

The teams were very closely matched throughout the game with the points lead changing hands several times during the game.

Finally, with EndEx looming, the English Team delivered their moveable objectives and scored enough points to tip the lead back in their favour. but weren’t able to pull back quite enough points to tip the lead back in their favour.

The game ended with the score:

England 1002 – Scotland 981

England 964 – Scotland 1000

England won the Stirling Shield for the second year in a row with the narrowest points margin we’ve ever had in a Stirling Airsoft game.  With England’s name engraved on the shield once more it will spend another year on display in Airsoft Skirmish‘s stall at Stirling events.

Scotland won the Stirling Shield and will have their name engraved upon the Shield which will now go to be put on display at Landwarrior Airsoft’s Showroom in Scotland.

The 2 I/C of Team Scotland, Scott Allan from Landwarrior Airsoft sent us this message to pass on to everyone involved with Op: Instant Justice.

On behalf of the Scottish team players I would like to extend my thanks to all the event organisers and the marshals who made the event as great as it was.

Our team this year was better organised, better prepared and more motivated. The results showed this throughout the weekend and even when we lost the lead we clawed it back.

We are confident that next year it will be our name on the trophy!

Everyone here at Stirling Airsoft would like to echo Scott’s sentiments.  Op: Instant Justice was a great game and we’re pleased to see how much everybody enjoyed it.

The friendly rivalry between England and Scotland never turned unfriendly and the whole game was played in the best of spirits by all involved.

Plans are already in place for next year’s Stirling Shield game, Op: Anvil, to be held at Catterick in the first weekend of December.  We’ll just have to wait and see whether England can win the Shield three years in a row or if Scotland’s confidence and determination will pay off for them in 2010. We’ll have to wait and see whether England can win the Stirling Shield back from the Scots or if Scotland can make it two year’s in a row.

Next weekend sees the airsoft armies of England and Scotland return to Catterick for Operation: Instant Justice, the second annual match up in Stirling Airsoft’s Old Enemy series of competition games to win the Stirling Shield.

After England’s victory in last year’s game, Op: Silent Eye, this year’s game is sure to be another hard fought battle as the Scots, lead once again by Scott Allen from Landwarrior Airsoft, try to get their county’s name on the Stirling Shield.

Op: Silent Eye was one of the hardest fought airsoft games Stirling Airsoft have ever hosted and everyone involved is looking forward to Op: Instant Justice being just as competitive.

As with last year’s game the winning side will have their county’s name engrave upon the Stirling Shield and if Scotland win the Shield will go to be put on display at Landwarrior Airsoft’s showroom, while if England retain the title the Shield will be held by Airsoft Skirmish, who will have the Stirling Shield on display in their booth at Op: Instant Justice this weekend.
