Message From: Captain William Fraser acting CO Task Force Black

Message To: Major Simmonds ISAT Command.

Sir
Apologies for the delay in this report we have been tying up loose ends after Op copperstone and things took longer than expected.

As you will be aware President Aluma had planned a weekend of celebration to mark his first year in power but it quickly became apparent that local opposition was not content to let this happen. Many citizens were unhappy at the secondary purpose of the celebrations which was to conduct a population census within the capital and insurgent elements seized on this as an opportunity to insight trouble. Almost immediately our operations to retrieve the captured SEAL were hindered by heavy fighting and coordinated attacks against ourselves and KGBNA.
We continued to utilise local assets to gain intelligence on the hostages location and several times we know we got close but each time the enemy managed to evade capture and moved the prisoner.
A shura was arranged with the local cleric and he agreed to help us in any way he could to help us bring our man back alive. But cleric Mohammed Jem was insistent that the only way to help us was to arrange a second shura attended by all local elders and people of influence and the President himself. The security threat for meeting like this I’m sure you can imagine is extremely high but we asked the question and Aluma agreed on the condition that the SEALS release was top of the agenda.
After the attack on the Shura in Ati it was decided that task force would control the inner security cordon while KGBNA would establish the outer cordon. Shortly before the shura was to take place FOB Perseus came under attack from small arms fire from several directions a sure sign the insurgents knew about the attack and didn’t want it taking place. With the arrival of KGBNA the attack lost momentum and the enemy drifted away and the attendees began to arrive with their separate security details.
Just as Aluma himself arrived I got word of new intel that we had almost an 100% confirmed location for the SEAL and because of the recent attack he was currently being guarded by only a handful of enemy. We launched a strike Op to get him out but I decided to keep this intel to myself rather than share it with the Shura or Aluma himself. The meeting which took place in a basement room began with tension and heated discussion Alumas refusal to cave in to pressure from the elders led to lots of shouting and it threatened to descend into chaos at several points and it was during one of these that Carter from the SI7 liason team passed quietly told me that the strike team had rescued the SEAL and he was safe upstairs. I instructed carter to keep his return quiet until after the shura had finished. But he requested that we let the meeting run for a little longer and then announce the success and break the meeting at that point scheduling a second meeting for the following morning. His reasoning was sound as it would allow us to conduct our secondary mission of locating and arresting HVT’s.
As soon as the elders departed and I debriefed President Aluma he requested that we utilise his military to assist in these operations. Immediately we began making up for lost time and scored several hits including Victor Drazen wanted in connection with Haribo smuggling from Ati.
We also picked up but had to release a suspect who shared certain intel matches with our profile of the French student. A separate report will list all those HVT’s will follow this report.
One other point of interest was the arrest of a suspect named Zag D’Nomaid who’s cropped up on several data bases over the Years as a known assassin who worked almost exclusively for the DBR it’s possible he may even have been involved in the murder of the late president tuwkani if the rumour is believed to be true.

trouble flared early on the Sunday meaning we had to abandon the Op to locate our last A grade HVT dubur Ra as who now remains at large after his involvement in the kidnap of the navy SEAL.

I have handed command back to task force blacks CO now he has recovered from his wounds and I have received my orders to return to my unit to begin prepping for Op Culverin in November.

I’ve had word from assets on the ground in the city that intercepted chatter has started to build in relation to this weekend’s celebrations. I’ve managed to increase the TFB boots on the ground, they should be arriving this evening, but my advice General is to keep a close eye on the President, put your best men on his security and stay groovy, safety off, finger on.

Bill Fraser will be your point of contact this weekend for ops, I’ve managed to requisition him from TF Blue now he’s out of Bousso after Op Huntsman.

Major, what brings you to N’Djamena? They must have seen fit to transfer you from Taskforce Gold!

I must keep you up to date with the current security matters regarding the festivities President Aluma has deemed appropriate in our great capital. The President wishes, against mine and other senior advisors, to proceed with this weekend’s celebrations even while the DBR are not under control. The city should be safe enough but I require Taskforce Black to be on standby for assistance to my KGBNA units and Police within the city.

I believe the main areas we need to ensure are sewn up are the street parties and extra security for the DBR Factor open auditions in the disco, the crowds have been known to be volatile when excited, the locals go crazy if a bit of flesh from the ankle is exposed by any burka wearing sirens….

We will also be on the look out for your missing SEAL, even if it does pain me to waste my men and resources on your failure to account for all your personnel…we will however be passing on any information we gather, President Aluma has requested it.

Any further intelligence your men in the shadows receive would be gratefully accepted, I wish this weekend to pass off as quietly, ceremoniously and favourably for myself and my men.

I’m here live for Haram Mujahid News all week in the build up to what is going to be Africa’s biggest party since the days of the crazy party Kings of Gabon!

President Victor Aluma is certainly bringing N’Djamena alive with celebration of his year in power and the joyous occasion of the birth of his first son, and heir, George Gecko. Aluma has gone for broke, lining up a festival of fun that spreads right across the city- rumour has it that he has even enticed a well know British wearer of high throusers to launch his reality tv show in Africa in what must be, pardon the phrase, a real coup! It is understood that anyone who wishes to enter the open auditions of ‘The DBR Factor’ should head down to Klobba’s Disco at building 66 between 12 and 4pm this Saturday, I’m sure this will go off with a bang!

The rest of the city will be alive with street parties and a fiesta spirit, bringing neighbours together in what will be a great occasion. There has been reports of bureaucratic breakdowns with getting permits to close streets off for a traditional Chadian street party of tea and cakes but residents are reminded that as long as they have correct documentation then they are at liberty to make a street off limits to vehicles during the period of the party.

Other activities that Aluma has sanctioned for this weekend include bash the DBR rat, coconut shy, guessing the weight of lizard cakes, stoning of those not enjoying themselves enough, gladiatorial style contests in the main square and sheep back racing. Dockets again must be carried if participating in public, especially when mounting sheep, and will be checked by Police and KGBNA personnel.

This weekend promises to be an event of joy to treasure and behold, and if it isn’t then the Police I understand will be making you….the wet weather will hopefully blow through before hand and leave the streets awash with happiness and celebration, after all President Aluma decrees it!

Message to: Major Simmonds TF HQ N'Djamena

Bousso extraction is now complete Sir
Took a little longer than expected due to continued harassment by the enemy causing problems for the Helo’s. But as of 14.00hrs today all manpower and logistics have been removed from the area KGBNA have a loose cordon 30miles out from Bousso but I don’t think they will see much action but if they do I doubt they will be able to achieve all that much with the numbers they had.

It pains me to say it but we were lucky to hold on to PB Phoenix as long as we did.
DBR forces in the area seem never ending and as you know we cleared the eastern section back in April but by the time we launched Huntsman our numbers were down to 50% and re supply just wasn’t possible. that said we managed to ID several new faces in the area one of them being a suspected commander of a large group of dedicated foreign fighters who’s numbers have grown considerably since April. This group had managed to retake the eastern sections of the region whilst we had reliable intel telling us some of the original Bousso fighters are now operating out of the mountains in the west these groups were able to launch several attacks on us from the mountains above PB Phoenix.
With our patrols Coming under heavy fire every time we left the PB acting on our intel was difficult but on occasions it did work in our favour.
Late saturday night we sent an 8 man patrol to clear a series of compounds designated Lima Bravo 1 2 and 3
These compounds were the last known location for a top Priority HVT named Nick Dundee so the job was to go in quietly clear the compounds and if he was on site lift him and bring him back to the PB. 300metres outside the PB the patrol spotted what looked like a two man recce team setting up a possible OP on the main patrol route. The enemy was engaged but it transpires that the 2 man recce team was actually a 35 man strong assault team on it’s way to attack Phoenix. The following firefight left both sides with heavy casualties but eventually the enemy decided to flee rather than fight. Had our guys left 2 mins later than they did they would not have spotted the enemy group and that attack would have hit the PB with a defensive force of less than 10 men. The Lima bravo Op was postponed and all resources dedicated to securing the PB against another attack. At around 01:00 hours we sent another small recce team up into the foothills to the west where our intel said the enemy had established a small training camp under the canopy of trees. That patrol returned at 05:00 having located the camp but were unable to carry out a Proper CTR because it was almost day light and the camp was stirring.
At 03:00 Phoenix was hit in another attack by the foreign fighters who managed to co ordinate a large scale assault from the west and south almost over running the PB with only 2 men left un wounded it was seriously close to the wire and all they guys dug in waiting for the sun to come up.

A stand too at 06:30 had everybody up and it was decided to have another go at Op Lima Bravo.
All troops loaded onto the vehicles and taking a long route into the Lima Bravo area the target was hit no shots fired four suspects found with weapons were arrested for further questioning. Details of which have been sent separately due to OpSec.
At 09:00 we spotted NIck Dundee who for the first time since his escape was openly drawing attention to himself it was an obvious lure into an ambush which thankfully all the guys avoided. Shortly acter we found ourselves under heavy attack from every side if pushed I would say almost every DBR in the area was bearing down on us with every thing they had. Again both sides sustained heavy casualties but their sheer numbers allowed them to keep coming. In the end they seemed to stop and hold ground surrounding us and then pulled back.
It was deemed untenable for us to remain in the area of operations and orders were given to prepare for extraction.

In the past year a new man, a new era, a new power has been overseeing Chad and her people, Victor Aluma. But has this new stage in Chad’s history brought it out of the troubled times the world has lain witness to for so long? The short answer is no, violence flares and the people are oppressed. The murkier answer is that no one truly believed President Aluma would steer the nation’s fortunes back around in only 365 days, but he is trying.

Victor Aluma must be credited with trying to restore law and order in N’Djamena and carry the sentiment out to the furthest corners on its ripples, but like ripples in a lake they lose power and momentum the further they travel and this has been witnessed by many. Even with his General Chief of Staff, the newly ‘re-born’ General Mugabe, leading from the front of the KGB National Army offensives against militant DBR fighters, the iron fist has failed to crush the dissent and now pockets of strongholds have appeared across the country.

International commentators believe the West have not assisted fully in Chad also, but these same commentators cried out for Chad’s independence from foreign involvement only last summer, it appears the former ISAT nations are between a rock and a hard place. For those who have read between the lines though it has been clear that these nations still have been lending their arms through the Training Team Chad project, although none of these states have ever gone on record discussing any combat roles they have mounted.

So, as Victor Aluma gathers his KGB folllowers in N’Djamena for the celebrations of his anniversary and birth of his first son, Gecko Aluma, we must be fair and balanced. His tenure as President will not be judged by his first year in office alone, we must say that he has started the journey and he will need to remain constant and strong willed for it to be completed by the end of his term.

Brother,

Our hard work has paid off. It was a shame you could not be here during this battle with the Infidels. The ISAT and KGBNA are starting to withdraw from the area due to our continuing operations against them. We attacked again and again eventually weakening them until they could no longer operate in this area. We took back all the land they took from us in the past and penned them like goats into their own base.

Thanks to your guidance myself and Paris were able to use your bombs in a very effective way. They could hardly use their vehicles which left us with little opposition until we got close to their base.

Unfortunately we were unable to test the solution as we were in heavy fighting for most of the battle though Paris was able to take our explosives and nearly double there potency which proved to be very effective. If we can do the same to your explosives then it will be something Azear will be proud of.

We were nearly caught while planting the bombs near the enemy base but we managed to detonate them and make good our escape. Azear must have been watching over us as we came face to face with them. We were very lucky indeed my brother.

Paris has brought to my attention another person who he says is a vital part of the Solution. We have given him the name White Horse and you should discuss this with Paris in person about him next time you meet.

At last we are ready for the next push against them, Azear willing it will be a glorious battle and a victory for Africa.

Azear Azear Azear

Message from: Prime Minister Pascale Tombalaye

Message to: President Victor Aluma

Victor,

Here are my observations after my recent visit to Ati. While there I was fortunate enough to meet with one ‘MJ’, the local cleric. How much influence he has is yet to be seen but at least the first steps were taken in establishing some sort of trust during the later meetings I had with him personally. The first meeting also included ‘locals’ numbering 10. Through an interpreter ‘MJ’ told me he didn’t like me and then proceeded to show me a letter purported to be from you. The wording of the letter was designed to incite friction between the KGB and the DBR. As if anything is needed. I was told that it was just another example of how the KGB and you in person had no interest in rebuilding Chad. I was shown the letter and believe as I have had already said that it was written to cause disharmony between the people of Chad. As to the author, I have no idea. I listened to the grievances of the ‘locals’. All of which were directed at the KGBNA and the ISAT’s Task forces. They pointed out that before the arrival of these forces Ati was relatively peaceful. I accepted this but then made the point that although relatively peaceful there was a very significant drug problem and also that it had become a hub for ‘foreign insurgents’. I used the term Libyans but meaning any from outside Chad who claim they are here to fight for the freedom of the Chadian people. After listening, I then made my points. ‘One people, one Chad’. We need to rid ourselves of these ‘insurgents’. They are only here to line their own pockets. They have no interest in developing Chad and bringing prosperity to all Chadians. ISAT could then leave. Chad could be a rich country, we have a wealth of resources. What Chad needs is a stable government under a common law that can bring about the infrastructure to develop Chad resources for Chad people. Instead of being maimed by the fallout of war our children deserve to be educated as Doctors, Teachers and Lawyers. Chad could then play a central role in Africa. One people, one Chad. I went on. Since our independence in 1960 Chad has been beset on all sides by interfering foreigners and interfaction rivalry which have prevented Chad from becoming the powerful country it could be. Again I made the point ‘One people, one Chad’. They asked about the present government. My reply was to point out that last year we had been so close to a strong coalition government with Otto Jobre playing a major role before ‘insurgents’ again derailed it with violence. My point was significantly further made when the meeting was brought to an abrupt end by a grenade being tossed into the circle of local leaders. All in the sitting circle were injured including the local leaders, the cleric, the minister for health and me. Nothing could have better summed up the thrust of my words. We must remove all those who would oppose the establishment of a free and wealthy Chad taking its rightful place as a leading African country. I had further meetings with ‘MJ’ and managed, I think, to establish some common ground. I spent most of the time based in the police station under the protection of the General and the KGBNA. As violence erupted the Generals forces were severely stretched so we decided that the minister for health and I would move to the Task Force HQ. This would allow the General to have all his forces at his disposal without the need to allocate a PSD to the minister and I. The Minister for Religion at this point had not returned from a visit to the local market. Against the advice of the General During the next days I heard many rumours about the ISAT and KGBNA taking bribes, extorting money etc. I decided with the Minister for Health, and at the consternation of the General, to walk the streets to see for myself. I was given an escort by the ISAT commander and witnessed first hand the problems they were dealing with. Once patrolling the street they and the KGBNA were immediately put under fire from a variety of buildings which once investigated were inhabited by ‘innocent’ and unarmed ‘locals’. In summary. If we are to make significant inroads into organised crime and the interference of foreign insurgents destabilising local government then we need to commit resources to further develop our ‘assets’. In my opinion ‘intelligence’ will be the key to solving these problems. I would refer you to the 2006 Anbar Awakening in Iraq. We must find the “shepherds”. Identify and separate the ‘reconcilable’ and the ‘irreconcilable’. I hope this is of use to you. I will be able to give you a more detailed report on my return to N’Djamena Pascale Tombalaye Police Commisioner Prime Minister One people, one Chad.

Message from: President Victor Aluma

Message to: Prime Minister Pascale Tombalaye

Prime Minister,

First of all I must express my relief that you were not killed or seriously injured during your visit.

I also express my condolences of the loss of our Minister for Religion. It is regreatble that his life was taken so abruptly and calously. The fact that he was targetted is a clear indication that our enemies foreign and domestic have no boundaries or limits and that they are inimically hostile to our stable government at all levels. I can understand that targetting of individuals that are related to our security services or military that is the hallmark of many such campigns both historic and current across the globe but to target and execute a religious leader, interested only in the well being of our citizens is beyond reasoning and I trust that in your dealings with the people our administrations shock and condemnation of this act is effectively communicated. As you are aware once again we have shown another strong year in terms of economic and civic growth and the foundations for Chad as a strong, stable nation are now clearly in place. It would be very disapointing at this stage if these radical elements were to destabilise this progress With this in mind as we have now somedegree of fiscal stability I am increasing the budget allocation for internal security by 10%. This is to be allocated at your discretion in order to seek robust intelligence on these threats. I find it unlikely in
the current circumstances where much of our populace is now involved in civic improvement that you will find much in the way of new recruits so I suggest that the budget allocation be used to build and strengthen exisiting intelligence ties in order to tackle the threat.

Regards

Victor Aluma

President CHAD

Message To: Major Simmonds, OC Task Force Gold , Ati, Chad

Dear Major, As you’ll no doubt be aware, all correspondences to myself should now be addressed to my forefather’s name ‘Mugabe’, I will not answer to my old slave name of ‘Hatemi’, I believe this is more fitting after my recent campaigns.

I wish to inform you that I must ask for your soldiers to leave Ati within 24 hours. The President has declared that Ati is manageable by our own forces and feels your presence in the city will not help matters further, I also think you should leave before you ‘lose’ more men- your news channels don’t seem to like stories involving your soldiers being abducted. The Haribo and Maom situation is more than controllable by the KGBNA and we have nearly finished mopping up the individuals we wish to speak to, I believe the rest of the targets no doubt fled the city while you were busy chasing your seal’s shadow.

If we require your help then I will notify Colonel Rodgers, I must remind you also to direct all communications regarding this operation through myself and my staff- the President does not need any further burdens at this time.

Finally, I demand a list of all your assets for vetting, I expect this in a swift manner as they could be a threat to national security.
