Have you heard of Twitter? It’s a free and easy to use “Micro-Blogging” service that lets you post short updates, called Tweets which are 140 characters in length, kind of like your Facebook status updates, and connect with other users by following their tweets.
Stirling Airsoft now has a Twitter profile where we’ll be posting updates about upcoming airsoft games and training events as well as “live-tweeting” the scores during games, which we’ll be doing for the first time during next month’s Op. Silent Eye, England Vs Scotland game from Catterick, so even if you can’t make it to the game you’ll be able to keep track of how the teams are doing throughout the weekend.
If you’re already a Twitter user all you have to do is visit our profile at twitter.com/StirlingAirsoft and click the “Follow” button underneath our logo to start following all our tweets. We’ll try to follow as many of our players as we can in return, but if we miss out on following you back, just send us a tweet starting with @StirlingAirsoft so that we know you’re there, or leave a comment here on the blog with your Twitter name.
If you aren’t already signed up to Twitter, it’s easy enough to join just by going to twitter.com and following the steps to create a new profile then start looking for interesting people to follow.
Let us know what else you’d like to see from us in our updates as well. Do you want to see more links for Stirling Airsoft videos and photos from events? Or news from kit suppliers about new airsoft guns and gear? Tell us what you’d like to see and we’ll do our best to oblige.

I don’t use Twitter myself as i don’t know anyone else using it.
Are you going to keep the Facebook page updated with upcoming events, etc?
Well Steve, now you know us and besides, half the fun of Twitter is finding other people on there with shared interests to connect with. Once you start following a few people and engaging with the community, you’ll soon discover plenty more like minded Twitterers out there.
As for the Stirling Page on Facebook, we’ll have more updates for that soon and will be working on a way to integrate updates from the main site and the blog automatically with Facebook.
Fair point – one’s a start, plus if it get’s addicitive I can tweet from my BlackBerry. I can check the game scores you post from in the field.
Welcome aboard Steve. You know it makes sense.
Although if you do decide to take your Blackberry into battle with you so that you can check the score updates, try and make sure that you’re in decent cover first – I’m not taking the blame if you get shot out with a phone in your hand instead of a weapon
Cheers Ken. On the upside, if the BB gets hit it’s a good excuse for upgrading…
There’s always a silver lining.
I’m just sticking with my crusty old (but solidly reliable) SPV until Orange get their act together and bring out an Android phone. But a CrackBerry would be my next alternative if they don’t sort it out soon.
